This month we are reviewing three books from our “What We’re Reading This Month –A Bit of This and A Bit of That” post. This was what was on our reading desk:
First, we review “Atomic Habits”:
“Atomic Habits” by James Clear: This has been on my reading table for over a year. I cannot quite finish it (p224 if 306). I prefer “The Power of Habit: Why We Do What We Do in Life and Business” by Charles Duhigg on the subject of habits. James’ exposition is not quite as ‘Clear’ as Duhigg’s.
In the same video, we review “His Majesty’s Ship”:
“His Majesty’s Ship” by Alaric Bond. I have read ALL of the British Navy historical novels set in the Napoleonic Era. This is book 1 of a new series by Alaric Bond. He must be the brother of James with a name like “Alaric”. If you like that sort of stuff, this is great. The battle scenes were among the best I have read. The book could use some help tying together the character development in the first half with the battle in the second. But highly recommended and I will be reading book 2; “The Jackass Frigate”.
We also had this bonus “book” recommended by Greg Hansen of Hansandcompany.com:
Next, we will definitely review “The Encyclopedia of Commercial Real Estate Advice” and “Win Bigly”.
