Jim & Michelle bought their first rental single-family home (SFH) in 1999 and grew that into a 76 unit apartment in Tempe, another 38 unit apartment in Tempe, two medical buildings and two rental SFHs while raising three daughters. Ryan Barlow with son Jonah

Demographic Expert

Ryan has been participating in the world of real estate since he can remember. Family dinner at the Barlow house often involved discussions about appraisal, real estate, finance and economics. At the age of 15 Ryan began assisting in the family appraisal shop: binding appraisal reports, creating report exhibits, filing and answering the phone. While Ryan was home-schooled, he was able to travel with his father to assist with appraisals throughout the western United States. After graduating from college, he was given the opportunity to join the family business as a full-time trainee appraiser. Ryan now works full-time as a trainee appraiser and dabbles in small-scale multi-family development.

Ryan lives in East Mesa with his wife and son. While not pondering the workings of real estate markets, Ryan enjoys spending time with his wife and son, barbecuing with friends and family, taking pictures, and studying theology and God’s Word.

Ryan graduated from Arizona State University in 2014 with a B.S. in Technical Communication. He is an affiliate member of the Appraisal Institute.
