This month we are reviewing the four books below:

  1. How to Write, Publish, and Sell Your Own How-To Book” (199 pages, paperback, 2020/4th edition) by John T Reed: Previously I had reviewed Reed’s book on life, “Succeeding”. I have read his real estate materials (he does much more than real estate, see John T Reed) for decades and have great respect for his knowledge, understanding and common sense. So, I bought this book on self-publishing and the next on overall best practices to see if I could learn something new. I plan to pass this book on self-publishing to my partner, Just Jeff. He might add ‘author’ to his already extensive bio. It is outstanding because he discusses the actual process of “making” a book, the manufacturing process, not only the writing process. And it is up to date, being the 4th edition as of 2020.
  1. Best Practices for the Intelligent Real Estate Investor” (223 pages, paperback, 2009) by John T Reed: Lots and lots and lots of detailed information, and opinion, based on Reed’s 40 plus years in real estate. Maybe too much information for a beginner. It might scare you off. Too many risks, You’re not smart enough. “If John T Reed can’t do it, how can I do it”. If you’re an experienced real estate investor, it is a great book to compare notes. I don’t agree with everything John says, but I agree with his overall attitude and cautions. Highly recommended with the above caution.
  1. Resurrection Shock – Did the Disciples Get It Right?” (378 pages, paperback, 2020) by Lane Sanford Webster: This was another recommendation from the Stanford Alumni magazine. Last time I wrote “I’ve read the first few chapters and it seems to be a fairly standard book on apologetics and a review of what happened by eyewitness accounts. Let’s see it holds up.”

Well it is more than a standard book on apologetics. I love it. Hear why in my video review:

I now see that I also reviewed this last month. Here’s the take then:

  1. The Drama of Scripture” (272 pages, paperback, 2014) by Craig G. Bartholomew and Michael W. Goheen: Recommended by Pastor Jeff. Previously I said; “I skimmed the first two chapters and really like this approach. Let’s see how it ends.” Almost finished now. And I am even more impressed. But I got a warning from Vicar Ryan on possible Baptist heresy herein. More in the video review.

That’s it for this month’s TMP Floating Book Reviews. See you next month.
