So, how did I meet Jeff and why is he on TMP team? For 15 – 20 years Jeff and I attended the same church. We had a nodding acquaintance in all those years. Then Jeff became a “vicar” at the church along with his full time outside job. A ‘vicar’ is a pastor in training as explained here:

For example, as candidates for the ministry are being prepared (in the examination process) for call and ordination, they are required, as vicars (or “interns”), to preach, albeit under the supervision and authority of their supervising pastor.”

I was impressed that he was working full time but also serving the Lord with a significant investment of his own time and money. It reminds me of St Paul working as a tentmaker (Acts 18:1-3) while being in full time ministry. He worked to support himself along with receiving some donations from thankful congregants.

While Paul was writing all those great letters, he built “houses”. And while Vicar Jeff is “pastoring”; he sells houses as his day job. I like to think that if Jeff was around 2,000 years ago; he would be out there preaching and selling Paul’s tents as his day job!
Back to properties and property management.

As you remember, we started a plumbing job and didn’t quite finish. When I got back to the site, we had discovered a new problem. The four-inch sewer pipe was loose. Now we must break up more concrete, excavate the dirt and find out what is the problem.

What happened next? Standby for the end of the story.
